Kristin's Questions and Answers

Name: Kyle Van Genderen
Age: 17
Grade: 12
Gender: Male

Question:

Hey Kristin, I was wondering why the Judicial system of the government is so politically incorrect and way out of proportion. The judges have too much power and are appointed. Why has America FALLEN into such crap? How do you think we can fix this problem? (Ty, we need to start a petition)

Answer:

Whether our great America has fallen or not, is a matter of opinion. Along with if our judges have too much power and such. Although our government does have many flaws in various ways, I'd like to compare it to others. Even though we may feel like it is crap at times, our "crap" still remains HIGHLY better than other countries and their governments. At least we still remain with the freedoms and rights that countless others do not have around this world. Other people don't even get the chance to FIGHT for their side like we do when we go to court or what not. There are some cases in which judges may not make the best decision, however, I am still very grateful that we do have them because I find them to be a very big blessing to our country.  We, the people of this great and wonderful nation, made up our system. We fought to have it the way that it is. Sure it is not a Perfect Society, as none are, but as far as my opinion goes, our society is still far greater than any other. I feel that rather than saying how crappy and horrible it is, lets also focus on just how much more great and marvelous it really is. I love this nation and great country. I am grateful to be here and not living anywhere else.

As far as what to do to fix our problems...you have the FREEDOM to write and send in ideas to be passed off for laws. Think of laws you'd like to make in order to make this place even better, and try to get it passed off. There's one option at least.

Question:

hey kritin, how come the eyes takes images in upside down? just wondering, thank you.

Answer:

They take images upside down and reverse them because that is how God created us and decided that was how our eyes should work. Why He decided to make our eyes that way I can not exactly say. You'd have to ask him. But maybe he just thought it would be a little more interesting and something for us to try to figure out ourselves.

Question:

i have just recently started kindergarten and there are plenty of potentials in my class what advice do you have for me to catch their attention. (i am jason sullengers neice so answer fast)

Answer:

Well, if you are so smart as to use the vocabulary which you do, your intelligence should be enough to do the trick alone. It has been quite some time since I've been in kindergarten. To catch attention I guess you can just be an outgoing person. That usually helps.

Question:

ppl say my butt is fat. what do you suggest i do to tell them to leave me alone?

Answer:

I say just act like you don't care. Be proud of your "fat" butt. A lot of times, people will continue saying things like that when they know it bothers the person they're saying it too. When they see that whoever they're trying to put down doesn't care, they often times quick. And, if you act like you don't care, eventually, you probably won't care, and it won't even matter to you. Thats my theory at least.

-Kristin's view on being Gay-

Answer:

I don't believe that straight people are necessarily BETTER than homosexuals. However, I will tell you why people don't like the idea of them at all. Many people believe it is wrong to participate in homosexual behavior. I'm not going to lie to you either, I agree. I don't believe that it is right or ok. I also don't want you to assume that because I feel that way, that I think gay people are bad people or not as good as any straight person. I know several gay people and have a pretty good time with them. I just don't agree with one of their choices. But almost everybody will have SOMETHING that they disagree on with almost everyone they know, so why let a particular choice cause so much tension? Hopefully that's not confusing to you, but that it helped answer your question. Some people just aren't as open minded as others and have different views on things.

Question:

Dear Kristin
I have a very big problem, something has happened to me, I just realized that I am madly in love with the with the most incredible man I have ever met, When I gaze into his eyes I see us spending the rest of our lives together, the only thing is that he is known to be the skool geek, but I know that he is the love of my life, will we ever find true happiness? This love of my life is Ty Palmer, I want him so bad!!!j Although I am afraid to say that I believe his heart isent for me, but for another woman! I have spend long days and nights crying for this man that I may never get to truly love! please help me!!!
Sincerely,

My lost love!

Answer:

His school status should not keep you from what is truly meant to be. Although being with him may indeed dramatically hurt you socially, why let that be in the way of true romance? Go for him. Does this girl that he has his own heart set upon feel the same way for him??? If not, I say do what you can and win his heart. I am certain you can do it. Use your wit and charm, I am sure it will work. Good Luck!!!! ;)

Question:

Hey, I need help, my girlfriend and I are going to diferent schools next year, and I want to know, should we break up or keep going out?

Answer:

K, first of all, if you have to debate on whether or not to break up with a girl because of a school change, I'm not sure that you like her all that much. You shouldn't be dating someone unless you REALLY like and care for them, and if you REALLY do, and its not some little crush or anything, than you don't even have to debate this decision. I say, don't break up with her over a school change....if you feel you really like her. If it doesn't work out eventually, then I guess maybe you guys should break up. Relationships should be more important than to be based on a school.

Question:

Hey there Kristin, jus curious about how you feel your trip to DC and NYC went over spring break and if there is anything specially interesting that you'd be willing to tell us about? (nothing to personal or anything of course, jus the basics of the trip and what you enjoyed... jus to let the people who weren't as fortunate as you and the others that went on the trip know how it all went)

Answer:

Hey thanks for asking, I'm hesitant to bore you with my stories though. lol But hopefully it wont be TOO bad. :)
My trip went GREAT! I loved it very, very much and wish that it could have lasted longer. I'm thankful for the time I did get though. My favorite night of all was Friday in New York. In fact the entire day was good. I got to go see the New York Temple which was different than any others I've seen before because the actual temple is built on top of the church, and it looks much like any other building awesome. It was still pretty cool. Missionaries happened to be there talking to everyone that passed by. I LOVED watching them, especially this Samoan missionary there. He was soooo excited to talk to everyone and wasn't afraid to do so. I want to be a missionary like him.
That night we went to the Broadway show, The Producers. The very first scene was pretty good and funny. Once the second scene came up it got pretty bad. We were surprised a show like that was recommended for a group of high school kids to see. Kayla and I walked out of the play maybe 15 mins or so after it began. We didn't care to see or listen to all that crap. She and I went to Toys R Us and toured the place for 4 hours total. Chad and Josh met up with us there too. That store is AMAZING! It is so awesome! Right after we got in there though, Ty called my phone and told I got to talk to him, Angela, and Kyle. It was SO NICE to be able to talk to them!!!! I loved it! Too bad we couldn't ALL be in New York together : ( but at least i got to talk to them :D.  Later that night, after EVERYONE met up with each other, we were watching a spray paint artist man who was AMAZING!!!! How i wish i could do something like that! He was GOOD! But anyways, as we were watching, Ty called again to try to convince me he saw Seth while they were bowling. He didn't do a good job. And he tried to make me jealous of a made up college girl friend, but he didn't do a good job at that either. lol (sorry) But it was still fun to have Ty call again and talk.
K so there's a tiny, tiny part of the New York experience. Washington DC was pretty awesome too. I liked it a lot! It was cool to see all of the monuments and memorials that I've heard a lot about and seen on TV and everything. My favorite one was the Korean, which has a bunch of life size soldiers walking through a rice patty field. Each man had an expression on his face that just caught me. I don't know how to explain it, but just imagining seeing faces like that in real life and all, it makes me feel bad for them. There were a couple that stood out to me most, they looked scared and afraid. I don't know how to explain it so it is just as cool to you as to me, but let me tell you, it was cool.
I also loved going to the Holocaust Museum. That was pretty awesome. It was sad, and made me have a stronger hatred towards Hitler. The things you see in there are just so graphic at times too. I couldn't ever imagine having to go through some of the things they did, or how anyone could even let anything like that happen. We walked through a train car that was used to take tons and tons of Jewish people to camps. I couldn't help not to picture the people crammed inside for days and what it was like in there. It was sad. After going through the museum, there is a room to light candles for the prisoners in various concentration camps. I really liked that room a lot. There was one flame that was burning for all of them too, I really liked that a lot as well. It would actually be nice to go through there again and spend a little more time there. But I'll have to do that later.
One other things we saw was the changing of the guards. Oh how amazing that was! I can't believe men do that for 2 yrs of there lives. They are so precise and never off. I don't think they ever make a mistake. It is so silent when you watch them. We also got to see them do a ceremony where some kids from some school gave a wreath to dedicate to the unknown soldiers. That was pretty cool, especially because we got to see more than just the changing of the guards. I think what is most amazing to me about the whole thing, is that these men train so hard, and go through so much, just to guard these graves! They're protecting the graves of men that they have NO IDEA who they are, and well, they are already buried under cement, what exactly are they protecting them from? I dont understand why anyone would ever try to take them or do anything to them, especially when no one else knows who they are either. Do they think people are going to try to dig them up? I have no idea. Either way, its amazing that they guard them like they do, and that it is such an honor to do it. Oh, one other thing that i have always loved about it, was that the people who do it, vow to NEVER drink or swear EVER, for the rest of their lives! I LOVE THAT! (makes them more attractive actually haha) But seriously, if they aren't going to be allowed to even swear for the rest of their lives, and to never take a drink, shouldn't that tell people something?! That maybe its just best that NO ONE ever do that stuff? I don't know, I just don't like that stuff so it makes me happy that the soldiers never do that, or ever will even after they are done guarding.
So ya, I know that is long so i am surprised, and happy if any of you actually finished through it all, THANKS! haha but there are just a few things from my trip that i liked a lot. I am definitely going to try to save up to go back next year to New York and Boston. I would LOVE it if all you tried to go too :D Think of how much fun it would be! It would be one of the best trips ever, i promise! :D If you want to know more stories, well then, just ask me, and I'll love to tell you all about it. Although, there is still PLENTY MORE to be told, so its up to you :D haha. Thanks for asking again ;)

Question:

Kristin, so marbles are pretty? lol nice, ok so can you explain to me what being sharp as a marble is? ;P thanks I'd appreciate it! ;D

Answer:

Sean....I can explain ANYTHING to you. This question is simple. Being as sharp as a marble is actually quite the compliment. ;) Only the brightest people of all know this, they especially know that marbles are VERY pretty. Marbles are made out of glass my friend, break a marble, and see how sharp those edges are. They are sharp. Yes, only the brightest people of all are "as sharp as a marble". Hope this helps! ;)

Question:

Kristin, is it really true.... are you going to New York, and leaving me? it is ok, I understand. my question is this... Do you have any ideas on what a person, who is stuck home for spring break, should do?

Answer:

Angela, thank you for your question, I hope that my answer is helpful to you.
First, yes, I am going to leave you next week for The Big Apple, aka, New York. However, I will greatly miss your presence.
There are many different things to do on Spring Break spent at home, let me offer some suggestions.
1.SLEEP IN-this is a very good opportunity to catch up on sleep that is lost during school,
and it will also feel very refreshing
2.MOVIE NIGHT-At least one night at the theatre is a good way of spending Spring Break,
it is a good time to catch up on the latest movies.
3.BOWLING-This is very entertaining, especially when you add some "jazz" to the game. Play
for more than just the score. Have some fun and do it in the craziest ways you
can think of. That is when bowling is the most fun.
4.SHOPPING-CART RACE-I believe you already know what this is, with some other friends,
go to the store and see who can put those items away the fastest.
       * Or you could put a friend in the cart, and race some others in the parking lot GREAT FUN!
5.GIRLS NIGHT OUT-Every once and a while, a girls night out is a lot of fun with the little
sisters (They'll feel cool being able to hang out with you in public). You
guys could go to a game arcade, Boondocks, go out to
lunch...anything. Maybe since you are wanting to spend good quality
time with them...your parents might actually agree to provide the cost
                                   of the activity(s)-no guaranties
6.SURPISE!-If you have the urge to give to others secretly, you could doorbell ditch, OR,
you could make something cute for a friend such as a small note saying why they
are so cool, and a candy bar next to it, or anything at all, and put it onto you're
friends (or whoever you are doing) bed, door, floor, car, wherever. Make sure
they are gone while you do it of course. then when they get home....they'll be
                     SURPRISED! :D It'll be great!

Now if you are needing people to do these things with, I can help you out there too. My good friends Sean, Ty, and Cookie will still be here. If you'd like more names, I am sure I can provide that as well, just let me know! ;) I hope you find this helpful. NEED MORE IDEAS??? ASK and I'll post some more! :D

Name: Berry Leader

Gender: Female

Question:

What do you do when you berries start acting strange? (berries such as black berries, blue berries, strawberries, raspberries, boysenberries, and cranberries) Do you know if black berries and blue berries mix? thanks for your time.

Answer:

These are some very serious questions and a little tough to answer, but I will see what I can do. Occasionally, and even with some, berries tend to act very strange. Why this is???....I am not always sure, but this is what I think we can do. Talking to them seems to be very helpful, some of you might be wondering why in the world you would EVER talk to berries, but when they act strange, it is VERY helpful, and I have learned that they enjoy it A LOT. They always seem to be pretty thankful for that talk as well. I think if you keep up a good attitude and let them know that you love being around them and care bout them, then things will eventually get better. It really depends on each berry and how they are acting, so this is the most general answer i can really give you.
As far as Blueberries and Blackberries mixing. They just DO NOT work out!!! Nuh uh! However, they deal with the mixing just to be around other berries that they both seem to have the greatest time with. I admire them for at least putting up with one another in front of their berry friends. :D I hope that some day they will eventually mix together, but it will be some time.
Oh, the berry I worry bout most are raspberries. They seem to be the most....persistent, yes that is a good word for them. But i think with some of our own persistence we'll be able to make raspberries sweet again! ;) I hope this helps!!!

Question:

Dear Kristin, LATELY I have discovered that my mother and father dislike me. As I have recently burnt down my home. Why is this so?

Answer:

"Adam", I hope that you may understand my answer, for I am afraid you will not due to the question you asked. It could very well possible be that they are mad because of the hard work and much money they spent on the house that you just demolished. Now because you burnt it down, they are questioning how to shelter you again, that is of course if they still have the desire to do so. I would strongly suggest you talk to someone who may give you some helpful thoughts. ;)
