Movies will be rated on a scale of five stars, five of course being the best.  If you have a movie you would like me to view and review before you see it, just send me an email and I will Git' R Done! movies@typalmer.com

My grandpas brother, Don Palmer, writes the Uncle Don's Addition.

The Island

I really like this movie.  Its the kinda movie that makes you think, just a little bit though, not as much as matrix, but still... ya know?  Ewan McGregor is really good in it as well, just like most movies he is in.  I will be buying this DVD when it comes out.

Benny and Joon

I hated this movie, never again will I waste my time like that.  2 hours of my life down the drain.  YUCK!!

Fantastic Four

I really enjoyed fantastic four, I haven't seen any of the new marvel movies that I didn't like, they have all been put together and casted well.  I thought that one flame guy was really cool, he was a smart aleck like me.  I guess I am a combination of all of them.  Geeky like the stretchy guy, smart aleck like the flame guy, fat like the rocky guy, and good lookin' the the invisible woman. HAHA!!!!

Batman Begins

Incredible movie!  I believe that this Batman far surpasses any of the other batman's to date.  The guy who plays batman was perfect for it.  I liked how they fully explained how batman came to be, and it leads right into the original batman movie.  Everything works with the other movies, except... I don't know why he would go from the cool tank kinda car he has in this one, to the bat mobile in the other movies.

Uncle Don Addition:

If you liked the comic book Batman (The Dark Knight) you will agree that this is far and away the best "Batman" movie ever. Great views of Gotham and super cast. TWO thumbs up.

Dark Water

Holy cow, that's $8.25, and 2 hours of my life I will never get back.  What a horrible movie.  It wasn't even that scary, there were 3 or 4 four jumpy moments, but the story sucked, and the ending was horrible.  I would defiantly steer clear of this movie.

War of the Worlds

Huh... I don't really know what I think about this movie.  It was very gloom and doom, and got worse constantly right up until...

All and all, I think I really liked it, I couldn't see it in the theater again, because it was too dang depressing, and that Tom Cruise is getting really weird lately.  The graphics are sure sweet though.

Uncle Don Addition:

I expect a 5 star because of Dakota Fanning.  She was in Man on Fire...tough movie but she was outstanding.

Uncle Don's Re-Addition

I didn't like how they came a million years ago, just to come up and kill people later, why didn't they just take earth them.  It just doesn't go along with the original story by H.G. Wells on October 31, 1939 over the radio.  There was also just too much unnecessary blood.

Top Gun

I give Top Gun five stars because, in my opinion, it is the best movie of all time.  Kelly Mcgillis and Tom Cruise are perfect for the roles they play in this awesome movie.  Goose was my hero in the movie, he was played by the guy who was Dr. Green in ER.  He was my hero in that show as well!  There is one seen that may need skipped, but all in all, the best movie ever.  I have purchased the extended edition DVD and the soundtrack, BRILLIANT!!

"Negative Ghostrider, the pattern is full."

Napoleon Dynamite

I give Napoleon Dynamite five stars because it is the second best movie of all time, the top three ever are the only movies worthy of five stars.  I love this one so much because it is the story of my life, sorta....  I wish I was as cool as Napoleon, or even Kip for that matter, but that's beside the point.  This is a very clean PG rated movie.  It promotes racial equality by having Pedro Sanchez, a Mexican, not only run for class president, but win.  It also makes the greatest state ever, Idaho, look like a very cool place to be.  I am a proud member of the Napoleon Dynamite fan club.  I even bought a poster yesterday at Wal-Mart with PJ, I got the last one.  It is now up on my wall, showing my Napoleon Dynamite Pride.  Oh, it promotes racial equality in another way, Kip marrying Lafanda.  It is an incredible movie for people of all ages, you either love it, or you hate it.  In my case, I LOVE IT!!

 "Frickin' Idiot!"

Phantom of the Opera

I give Phantom of the Opera five stars because it is the third best movie of all time, for now... I can't stand to see movies in the theater more than once, this on the other hand, I have seen twice, and plan on seeing again, and again.  Especially because its at the Overland Park theater, and its cheap.  Defiantly a must see.

The Notebook

Oh my GOSH!! ok, here's why I saw this stupid movie.  I am always hearing notebook this, notebook that from girls at school, so I thought, I should watch this movie, then maybe I will have a slightly better understanding of girls.  I thought it might get me a little ahead of the competition.  It didn't help.  I thought this was the stupidest, most disgusting movie I have ever seen!  What a horrible thing to watch.  UGH!!  I don't understand girls anymore and I don't think girls understand themselves.  Why on earth would you think that was such a wonderful movie?

Star Wars: Episode III

Revenge of the Sith

Well, I saw Star Wars at 12:15 a.m. on opening day, Thursday, May 19, 2005.  It was easily the best Star Wars of the latest three.  Its a toss up between this one, and episode 6 to which was the best one ever.  The graphics were defiantly the best of all of them.  Yoda actually looked real!  It answers all questions you could possibly have, but it does wait until the last 2 minutes to answer all of them.

I have seen it twice in theaters, and that is probably all I will see it until it comes out on DVD.  I will defiantly be buying this one, I will probably buy all six in a pack, it will cost a lot, but will be worth a lot some hundred years down the road.

"Keeeee, caauuuuughgh."

Paycheck

I enjoyed watching Paycheck because I am into technology, so I thought the plot was interesting.  The reason I give it 3 stars instead of 4 is all because of the chick in the movie.  Why on earth would they have Uma Thurma play the chick?  She is the ugliest good looking girl I have ever seen!  YUCK!!  Anyone but Uma Thurma.

Mr. and Mrs. Smith

I enjoyed the action aspect of this movie.  It was also pretty funny.  But it kinda dragged a little bit, I am not sure if I thought that because it was actually that way, or because I really needed to go to the bathroom.

Uncle Don Addition:

Mr. & Mrs. Smith dragged a little bit?????? Other than that all the rest are right on as far as I can tell.

Pride and Prejudice: LDS Version

Pride and Prejudice is a chick flick, yes I watched yet another chick flick.  Its my understanding that there is more than one version of this movie out there.  This is the Mormon version I am talking about.  I thought it was pretty funny, and I did enjoy it even though it is a chick flick.  I only rate it 3 stars because I am a guy, sorry people, but I have to.
