I am a huge supporter of immigration. I believe anyone that proves themselves worthy of the privilege of living in this great country should have the opportunity to do so... LEGALLY! I think we should control our southern border with more force. We also need to ship back many of the illegals we currently have living here. They are a drag on our economy, some are hard working and deserve to live here, but for the most part, they don't. If you pay just a little attention to the nightly news. They say Juan stabbed Paco, or Maria ran over Jose. they are causing too many problems.
I believe Gay marriage should remain illegal. It destroys the sacredness of marriage. It mostly depends on your religious beliefs, but as for mine, I am very against it.
I believe judges need to be elected, not appointed. Its sad that a judge, not chosen by the people, have more power in some situations than the President, who was elected by the people. For example, in the Terry Shaivo case, President Bush came out and said, "Save this woman's life." But a judge, going off something Terry's husband casually remembered she had said during a movie, decided to murder her. Despite the fact that the President said to do otherwise. Judges have too much power, it would be understandable if we chose who they were, but we don't. They either need to be limited to their power, or elected.
I am a strong supporter of the death penalty, but I do believe there are some problems with it. When someone is sentenced to death, they usually end up rotting in jail and never end up actually getting killed. I believe the sentence needs to be carried out immediately following the sentencing.
I support the reciting of the Pledge in schools on a daily basis. It is the right of those who wish not to to not participate. But I believe they should show the utmost respect to those who do. And by the way, there is no pause between "...One nation..." and "...Under God..." It is "...One nation under God...". GET IT RIGHT!!
What a complicated topic. I believe we need a flat sales tax. I can not, nor will I try to explain why, or how. Just trust me, it is the best way to go.
